1927: Bauhaus women artists, shot by Erich Consemüller, "Marcel Breuer and His 'Harem'" - (L to R: Marta Erps-Breuer, Katt Both & Ruth Hollos-Consemüller). The ironic title juxtaposes junior teacher Breuer and the students he disconcertedly watches: the modernity, emancipation, equality, or even superiority, of the women in it. They are confident, with cool gazes and wild short hair - It could easily have been taken in the 1980's. No wonder they horrified the Nazi regime.
