Look what we found! #iheartcd We can see this as a great addition to a Safe Place and part of the I Choose process in the 5 steps for self-regulation. These can be created with your grade level or children's age in mind!

I use this to teach kids that some things are within their control (Play-Doh problems) and some things are not (rock problems). I give them a set to take home as a reminder. Throughout therapy I'll often ask, is that a rock problem or a Play-Doh problem? It's one of my favorite tools.

Calm Counter App: . The app opens up to a “I need a break screen” that vocalizes “I need a break” when it is tapped. The screen then transitions to a red screen with an angry face and the number ten. With each tap the screen transitions to a calmer face and color. The app prompts the user to count backwards from ten followed by a deep breath. Calm Counter also includes a simple social story with line drawings about anger.
