In the entryway to her husband's wardrobe area from the master bathroom, Blumenfeld installed stunning antique French walnut doors and a transom, all with hand-forged wrought iron details. "I discovered these while studying in New Orleans and got them for a steal," she says. "I held on to them over the years, knowing one day I'd use them for a client. That client ended up being me." she says.

New Takes On Old Doors - take them to the garden - would make a great trellis!
Old door used inside! (Link to post full of pictures of what to do with old doors.) Would be SO CUTE for a pantry door in the kitchen!
Nature calling by Richard Shepherd. Nature is reclaiming this front step. It is so ethereal to watch this transition from man, back to nature.... I felt this photo was gorgeous with those elements, however I think I am really drawn mostly to photos of doors, paths, steps and windows. For me, I think that it's all about the mystery of the journey. What lies ahead?....
Nature is starting to reclaim this amazing main entrance of an abandoned castle in Scotland. I adore the old blue door with the exquisite ornate hinges. So unique!
The Round House and its idyllic setting evokes an overwhelming sense of magic, intrigue and romance. Built in the 1790 's, along the now disused Thames and Severn Canal from Lechlade to Stroud. Originally, a Linesman' s cottage, the horses were stabled on the ground floor, and the family lived on the 2 floors above.

As if the bed nook wasn't cool enough, that door leads to the closet, which holds a ladder to a reading space, with the "balcony" window above the bed to look out!

A horse trough topped with an old door stands in as a buffet table.... Doing this!
Corsican mint can be trained to go between some pavers. It is very low growing, it is supposed to be able to "be trod upon" and it smells wonderful!
Every garden needs a shed... So whimsical.

Definitely LOVE this idea! Lemon grass is a natural mosquito repellent and grows quite tall. Plant some in deep planters and place on the patio or where you will have people sitting, and you will also have a privacy hedge with the height the grass grows. The scent is very appealing, not like sprays that contain deet! It's a perennial grass so you won't have to worry about planting it again!!
for the back yard- plant lemon grass for privacy and to keep the mosquitos away
