Tin Foil Dinners for the camp. Site has lots of great ideas...including: foil wrapped breakfast burritos you just heat up on the fire in the morning, and pork chop packets with pineapple, onion, and peppers. Totally making some of these soon!!
Summer Camp for Kids: Tinfoil Dinners - Make and Takes
Mom always made a broccoli salad with head of broccoli, 6 strips bacon, 1/2 cup onion, 1/2 cup raisins, 1 cup mayo, 2 Tbls sugar, 1-2 Tbls of vinegar. Link goes to a similar recipe. I like the addition of 1 cup sunflower seeds, more raisins, and using honey instead of white sugar.
easy, summer dinner--shrimp, sausage, corn and potato kebabs (fun for a cookout)
Campfire Cake in an Orange-- Cut the tops off oranges & scoop out the fruit. Fill each orange just past halfway with prepared cake mix. Put the tops back on & wrap in foil. Set the oranges in the campfire coals for 20 minutes. The cake bakes right in the oranges and is very moist with a tinge of orange flavor... So doing this next time I go camping!!
Campfire Orange Cakes - Awesome
Camping! Prepare pancake mix as stated on the box. Then pour all the batter into a large ziploc bag and freeze! Once you are ready to use it, take it out of the freezer to thaw, snip off a corner of the bag, and you have quick & mess free pancake mix! It's a great way to use up a few cups of milk before it expires!
cream cheese filled strawberries
my kind of 'bed and breakfast'
