Advent & Christmas
O Come, O Come Emmanuel!
Phil. 2:5-9 (KJV): "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name"
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear (the word of truth,) slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. James 1:17-20

Quote: "Thou Who Wast Rich" by Frank Houghton
"Man’s ability to believe always depends in part on faith having become dear on the path of life, on the humanity of God having manifested itself through the humanity of men. No doubt each of us could tell his own story here as to what the various memories of Christmas, Easter or other festivals mean in his life. It is the beautiful task of Advent to awaken in all of us memories of goodness and thus to open doors of hope." —Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI)
