Wonderful CSA Images: I always wondered what the CSA stood for and never knew it was the name of an art designer, Charles Spencer Anderson, who's life-long passion for "low-brow" print and pop culture art led to this huge licensable archive. God I love the stuff!
The cover of Willy Ley's 1957 book "Space Pilots." Ley was born in Germany in 1906, and left in 1935 when he'd had enough of the Nazis. He was a student of almost everything, and published multiple works on rocketry, space travel, even cryptozoology, in addition to technical consulting for movies, TV shows, and Monogram models. Tragically, Ley died less than a month before Apollo 11 landed on the moon.
