All That Spam: Homemade Mosquito Repellant
Homemade Weed Killer 1 gallon of white vinegar, 1/2 cup salt, Liquid dish soap (any brand), Empty spray bottle. Put salt in the empty spray bottle and fill it the rest of the way up with white vinegar. Add a squirt of liquid dish soap. This solution works best if you use it on a hot day. Spray it on the weeds in the morning, and as it heats up it will do its work. Good to know!
Pinner says: this is the BEST Weed Spray. I made 3 gallons for around $4.00 last year after seeing a pin. Worked better than Round Up & killed the weeds/stray grass on first application. One gallon of APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, 1/2 c table salt, 1 tsp Dawn. Mix and pour into a smaller spray bottle.
Keep flies away from outdoor food. I wish I would have known this for years now
Putting a bar rail on the deck for some extra "table top" for cookouts and parties!
Great idea! All you need is PVC, a drill, and a hose. And a handy husband!
Clever idea, great to do with the kids at spring time or for an Easter project with them: start seeds in ice cream cones and plant in to ground.
As many times as I've been to the beach! I never knew this!! Easily remove sand from your hands by "washing" them with baby powder! This works great for cleaning kids up after playing in the sand box as well!
Swarms of Mosquitoes on my patio led me to an old home remedy - Did you know that chopped up garlic makes mosquitoes disappear? I buy minced, dried garlic at local Fiesta grocery stores and sprinkle it around on my patio. I have to stand back as I am using it - mosquitoes will literally swarm out of your plants and bushes to get away from the smell. Works like a charm!!
These are fantastic... what a great idea for sitting around the bonfire without a place for your drink!!
Used old towels to make this huge beach blanket. Add a vinyl tablecloth to the back: blocks sand, doubles as tablecloth. Road trip must-have! ----
Baking soda neutralizes the ph in the soil and nothing will grow there. I use baking soda in a 6" wide area around all of the edges of my flower beds to keep the grass and weeds from growing into my beds. Just sprinkle it onto the soil so that it covers it lightly. I usually have to do this twice a year - spring and fall.
Outdoor Chandelier= use dollar store solar lights placed in bulb sockets of an old chandy that has been stripped of all the electrical stuff. Could be so pretty swinging from a tree branch, hanging from the porch or an arbor
Awesome for a bar or for the deck to use for cookouts, or even potting table or ??? Entirely doable from an old cabinet.. just turn it sideways like this and put chains on to hold the door open and hang it! there ya go! We can do this.. crafty people! You might have to redrill a few holes for the shelf pegs to fit in.
Fold down bar for a back porch. Brilliant!
MUST grow some. Mosquito grass (a.k.a. Lemon Grass) repels mosquitoes | the strong citrus odor drives mosquitoes away--very functional patio plant.
Fill balloons with water and add food coloring, once frozen cut the balloons off & they look like giant marbles. Line the walkway in winter...
