Improve the verb. 5. Include an appositive. 6. Write it as a compelling fragment. 7. Rewrite it as dialogue. 8. Change the point of view.

Another cute song about contractions to the tune of the hokey pokey. Students could make motions to the song, get out of their seats, or even work in groups to make hand motions for the song.

Wow! The students are really engaged! Free! Cause and Effect activity to go with the book, "Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type".

These write and wipe cards will help your students learn and practice writing contractions. Just print back to back and laminate, or put in dry erase pockets. Students use dry erase markers to write the contractions on the front of the card. Crossing out the unused letters first will help them remember the letters they no longer need. Then, they turn the card over to check their work. Once students are finished, they erase the cards, so they are ready for the next eager learner.
