Why Rudolph's Nose is Red by Makin Brice: Rangifer tarandus - native to the Arctic regions in Alaska, Canada, Greenland, Russia, and Scandinavia have a rich density of micro vessels in their noses. Thermal imaging reveals that while exercising, their noses can reach 75 degrees Fahrenheit, warm for reindeer. This finding indicates that the function of these blood vessels may be to regulate body temperature. Photo by Kia Kemp, BMJ www.bmj.com/... #Reindeer #Red_Nose
