66 Fruits and Vegatables You Can Grow At Home In Containers Without A Garden

Great set up for a veggie garden, blocked from the dog or other animals.

Planting tomatoes with a couple of aspirin and some crushed chicken egg shells. The aspirin is to help jump start the plant's immune system. I'll put three or four crushed egg shells into the hole as well. The eggs supply a nice calcium boost, which will help prevent blossom end rot, that nasty brown patch on the bottom of tomatoes that lack calcium (the fish head bones and bone meal also help with that).

Great tip! Before gardening/yard work, drag your nails across a bar of soap, claw-like. The soapy buildup will protect the area under the nail bed from a soily invasion. Once you are done mucking about in the dirt you’ll find that washing up is a breeze!

1 gallon of white vinegar 1/2 cup salt Liquid dish soap (any brand) Empty spray bottle Put salt in the empty spray bottle and fill it the rest of the way up with white vinegar. Add a squirt of liquid dish soap. This solution works best if you use it on a hot day. Spray it on the weeds in the morning, and as it heats up it will do its work. Check out my before and after photos. I took the first photo right before I sprayed the weeds and the after photo about 24 hours later.

Love this idea to repurpose broken stemware: pop in a citronella candle and then put glass down in a plant. Pretty at night and keeps bugs away!

1tsp epsom salt in 4 c warm water....spray on plant and then 10 days later. produces more fruit due to boost of magnesium... especially for tomatoes, peppers and roses
