I was sitting on a comfy chair alone in my living room when i read Dumbledore died. I started crying and had to set the book down for a moment. My dad walked by and saw me crying and asked what was wrong. I blubbered "Dumbledore died". He couldnt understand me so I repeated myself. He said oh someone from your book and moved on. I was so mad!

@Annie Compean Mitchell, that just happened to me yesterday! Exact same scenario. Weird!!!! I guess I'm not the only one after all.

Sometimes it isn't just the death of a character that gets me, but what's going on around it. When Rue died, I imagined myself laying her out with flowers, and feeling so helpless. I cried more then and at the flashbacks and references to her than at most of the rest of the trilogy. The first book I cried over was probably CS Lewis' "The Last Battle" (last of the Narnia books), when they are going further up and further in, and at one point they see the train they were on in their world, and realized there was no going back.

Star Trek reboot novels. What they did to Janeway and Deep Space Nine? A book made me cry over a fictitious space station. Luckily I DID marry a geeky bookworm, so I avoided the funny looks!

I cried at The Last Battle and when Dumbledore died. Feel so connected!
