For the Home
:: happy space ::
take doors off closet, paint, create shelves, install counter for desk area (look at Menards or Lowe's or Fleet Farm for 'odd sized counters' for sale), maybe mirror part of the back wall for 'light purposes, install outlets for plug-in stuff, slide plastic 3 or 4 drawer bins under counter for storage of office/scrapbook/craft stuff...voila!
Need, want, love this space.

Ok so I'm not pinning this because it's a particularly groundbreaking idea. Just because it's from a basement redo and it gave me an idea. What if you did, like, a bunk room in your basement that was also a home theater? A couple of sets of bunk beds and some bean bag chairs would give everyone plenty of room to sit and then it could be a guest room for when lots of cousins came to visit.
Two-layer sleeping nook - with books!
from the article: "'A cabin on the sea: From the terrace of the old fisherman’s house on Gotland, Bengan has a magnificent view on the bay. Here, he enjoys the solitude to rest with his daughters and his dog Gangster, after periods of intensive work as a filmmaker. This is a simple hut with no electricity, a place perfect for meditation."
