Wildlife photographer Thomas Kokta travelled from his home in Washington state to Manitoba, Canada to capture these stunning images of a polar bear and her three cubs
First owned as cubs by a drug dealer who neglected and abused them, a lion, tiger, and bear were finally rescued. The bear's harness, which had been allowed to grow into its skin, was surgically removed. When the staff of the animal sanctuary tried to separate them, though, the animals were uncooperative and behaved poorly. But reunited, the three calmed back down. Now the three spend their days playing, cuddling, and eating together. And there are no plans to separate these lifelong friends.
