Paint colors that go well with wood trim

We're about to move to our new house. Good news: we can paint. Not-so-good news: gotta keep the wood trim. Now I'm kind of excited to see the world through wood-stained glasses.

Whetstone Gray by Martha Stewart (disclaimer - this is my own living room! :))

I think the wood trim really adds warmth here.

note the wood-stain and camel-tones; they work very well with this warm aubergine

Sometimes it's not about hiding the wood trim at all, but rather looking at the window as a piece of art itself. Here, off-white walls work really well.

I'm starting to think that if you call the stain in wood trim "camel" it can work with a lot of things, like this black, for instance.

I'm drawn to the smoky blues/greys for some reason . . . perhaps a shade or two lighter for the living room.

this is the kind of blue I'm looking for in the office - color is Valspar™ 5002-3C Tropical Bay *

This house makes me realize that not all wood trim has to be painted white to look amazing. I love the naturalness.
