Cut, Do and Glue- winter math
I think that this would be an excellent get-to- know-you activity for students that can also serve as wall art! I want a classroom that feels like a community so ideally I want everyone to get to know their peers and become comfortable with each other.
FREE 44 Word Work Task Cards & Recording Sheets...these are awesome!!
NOISE…removing one letter at a time when our voice level gets too loud. When NO is left, there is NO more talking! Love this! A lot more clearer than just putting up strikes on the board or letting the noise escalate to a point where you just cut off talking. It also gives the kids a chance to regain control of their noise before it gets to that point.
I post a different picture each week and students write one asking and one telling sentence about the picture. The goal is to make them “sparkle” by adding details and checking for capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. Students write the sentence in pencil first and after proofreading are allowed to make it “sparkle” by tracing over it with the gel and glitter pens.
