Assigned to 1st Bn (Airborne), 501st Inf Regt, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division. Died in Khost Province, Afghanistan, of injuries caused by a bomb blast.

Army PFC. Markie T. Sims, 20, of Citra, Florida. Died December 29, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to 38th Engineer Company, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, under control of the 7th Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Died in Panjwai, Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

Army SGT. Enrique Mondragon, 23, of The Colony, Texas. Died December 24, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 173rd Special Troops Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Bamberg, Germany. Died in Baraki Barak, Afghanistan, from injuries sustained when his unit was attacked by small arms fire while on dismounted patrol.

Navy CDR. Job W. Price, 42, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Died December 22, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to SEAL Team Four, an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Died in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan of a non-combat related injury while supporting stability operations. This incident is currently under investigation.

Navy LT. Leonard Robinson, 29, of Spring Lake, North Carolina. Died December 15, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to Naval Hospital Sigonella, Italy detachment located at the Naval Branch Health Clinic in Bahrain. Died of non-combat related injuries while home on leave in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Army SFC. Kevin E. Lipari, 39, of Baldwin, New York. Died December 14, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to HHC 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Bamberg, Germany. Died in Logar Province, Afghanistan. A family member said he was found slumped over his computer and unresponsive. The Department of Defense released no other details but said the incident is under investigation.

Marine Sgt. Michael J. Guillory, 28, of Pearl River, Louisiana. Died December 14, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California. Died in Puzeh, Helmand Province, Afghanistan, Of head injuries sustained when his ATV slid into a ditch while placing strobe lights for a night supply air-drop.

Army SSG. Nicholas J. Reid, 26, of Rochester, New York. Died December 13, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to 53rd Ordnance Company (EOD), 3rd Ordnance Battalion (EOD), Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Died in Landstuhl, Germany from wounds suffered on Dec. 9, in Sperwan Village, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

Army SSG. Nelson D. Trent, 37, of Austin, Texas. Died December 13, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to 56th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 36th Infantry Division, Texas Army National Guard, Fort Worth, Texas. Died in Kandahar, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

Army SSG. Wesley R. Williams, 25, of New Carlisle, Ohio. Died Decembere 10, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, under control of the 7th Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Died in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

Navy PO1. Nicolas D. Checque, 28, of Monroeville, Pennsylvania. Died December 8, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to SEAL Team Six, an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit. Died near Kabul, Afghanistan, of combat related injuries during a successful raid to free Dr. Dilip Joseph of Colorado who was being held captive by the Taliban.

    every time I see one of these photos posted by Jerry G-it just takes my breath away. Just a mix of feelings, sadness for the loss, gratitude to those who serve...I could go on. I'll be praying for his family tonight.

Died in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, from injuries sustained by enemy small arms fire while on foot patrol.

Marine Cpl. Christopher M. Monahan Jr., 25, of Island Heights, New Jersey. Died November 26, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 2, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, when the truck in which he was riding struck an improvised explosive device.

Navy PO1. Kevin R. Ebbert, 32, of Arcata, California. Died November 24, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. He was a Navy SEAL assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek – Fort Story, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Died in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan, from injuries inflicted by small arms fire while supporting stability operations.

Marine LCpl. Dale W. Means, 23, of Jordan, Minnesota. Died November 18, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 2, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, while conducting combat operations.

Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died in Paktika Province, Afghanistan, from injuries suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device and small arms fire.

Army SSG. Rayvon Battle Jr., 25, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Died November 13, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to the 38th Engineer Company, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Died in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. The cause of death has not yet been released. According to the November 16, 2012, Rocky Mount (NC) Telegram, SSG Battle died in an explosion that is under investigation.
