The GameCube was released in 2001 as Nintendo's sixth generation console. This was the first Nintendo console to utilize discs instead of the old cartridges. It also was the only Nintendo console to require a memory stick of some kind. The graphics produced were significantly better than the N64. This is the first Nintendo product to support 3D effects, but it was never utilized as 3D TVs were rare. The controller brought back the X Y buttons and switched the C buttons with a C stick.
Another of the household favorite gaming consoles. Great memories.
