I have a little side hobby, mosaics. I find creating them relaxing, a little like puzzles (which I also recently re-discovered) and have been making them as gifts for a while now. These are some photos of my gifts and some of the things that inspire them.

Inspiration - tiny tiles around center and edges... love this. Also brown grout

Inspiration - texture, colors, sparkle.... from Etsy AkashicArt

Inspiration - I like the 3D elements here.

Inspiration - from Brett Campbel Mosaics. Love the sunset in the tiles.

Inspiration - the light captured in the tiles is great. The tiles are tiny. Love this. Not at all good enough to do this, but I can always aim high.

These are beautiful hand painted tiles by a Portuguese artist. I brought them home, mounted them and then created a border made out of broken plates around them.
