Books Worth Reading

I have only just begun to scratch the surface of the books that I believe are a worth a read. And when I am finished writing my own book, I will add it to the list as well!

Probably the most shocking work of fiction I have ever read. If you thought Lolita was bad...

Jonathan Lethem. That's all I need to say.

For anyone who loves dogs and racing, or just dogs (you will learn to love racing) read this book. Don't forget the Kleenex. One of my books of all time.

Shortly before Bliss Broyard's Father died, her Mother told Bliss and her Brother that their Father had a secret that he'd never told them. He was born to a black mother and father and his birth certificate listed him as "colored" at the time of his birth. On the day that he filled out an application to get his social security card, he decided that he was going to be "white" from then on.

I did like a lot of Oprah's books and I say that begrudgingly. I loved this one.

Harrowing....definitely not for the weak of stomach!

Jonathan Lethem is one of my author-hero-crushes!
