Today Southwest Airlines is excited to launch LUV Seat: Repurpose with Purpose, our Company’s newest global sustainability initiative that will upcycle the used leather seat coverings from the Evolve retrofit into brand new products that support local communities. Through the initiative’s pilot program, the products will benefit communities in Kenya, Malawi, and the United States by providing access to employment, skills training, and livelihoods.

Carpet for a Cause is a national program where we donate FLOR squares to charities, organizations and schools across the country with the goal of making their surroundings a little more comfortable, a little more beautiful. It's our way of giving back to local communities and giving this unused product a new place to live on.
The BOOK IT! reading incentive program, launched by Pizza Hut in 1985, provides the materials for teachers and librarians to set monthly goals and present students with a reading award certificate when goals are met. Students take the certificates to a Pizza Hut restaurant, where they are congratulated by a team member and given a free, one-topping Personal Pan Pizza. There is no purchase necessary and the pizza can be taken to go.

General Motors has made an additional donation of scrap sound-absorption material from its Chevy Malibu and Buick Verano models to a Detroit nonprofit for use as insulation in waterproof, self-heating coats that become sleeping bags for the homeless.
#xmascausemarketing Hanes & the Salvation Army launch the 4th annual Sock Drive on Skid Row in Los Angeles. This year's sock drive will elevate the brand's total donation to 2.2 million socks to date. Joining these efforts is local California homeless advocate and founder of InvisibilePeople.TV, Mark Horvath. Mark distributes Hanes socks throughout the year to those affected by homelessness.
PEDIGREE is supplying local shelters in these cities with nutrition for their dogs, giving them the ability to save anywhere from $40,000 to $100,000 a year. The Brand will also work with these shelters to conduct local marketing and community outreach efforts, such as hosting adoption fairs and local advertising for the dogs in both cities, with the goal of helping more dogs find forever homes.
HanesBrands announced today that it is making an initial donation of three tractor-trailer loads of underwear and fleece apparel to East Coast victims of Hurricane and Superstorm Sandy. Hanes, which has a manufacturing plant in Dover, Del., two design centers in New York City, and numerous outlet stores in the region, is partnering with Fashion Delivers, a New York-based nonprofit organization that distributes apparel and home furnishings to victims of natural disasters around the world.
