Caerlaverock Castle, Scotland * Moated triangular castle built in the 13th century, sits on the southern coast of Scotland and built to control trade in early times. For 400 years the castle was besieged, abandoned, demolished and reconstructed, but always maintained its distinctive triangular shape. In 1640 the castle was besieged for the last time and today is in the care of Historic Scotland and a popular tourist attraction.

Lake Retba, Senegal or as the French refer to it Lac Rose, is pinker than any milkshake you’ve ever come face to straw with. Experts say the lake gives off its pink hue due to cyanobacteria, a harmless halophilic bacteria found in the water. Lake Retba also has a high salt content, much like that of the Dead Sea, allowing people to float effortlessly in the massive pink water.
THE TOWN WITH NO ROADS Giethoorn in Holland is a beautiful and quiet little village unique in that you will not find a single road in the entire town. Rather, it is connected by waterways and paths and some biking trails. Visitors are always welcomed and encouraged to rent an electric and noiseless "Whisper Boat" to explore this little piece of heaven on earth. Plus, without car pollution and soooo many trees, what ever pollution does come their way, the trees purify the air.
Renting a glass igloo in Finland to sleep under the northern lights. One of my lifetime goals: to see the northern lights. Must do this!
