I am partial to this Little Free Library Design because it makes ingenious use of abandoned kiosks that were previously eyesores and a reminder of an era past its prime. I have big questions about little libraries: how do they complement/ replace services at traditional libraries? What can other libraries do that these cannot, and vice verse? Can they expand to provide more than books? Should they? Three cheers for improved access and intellectual freedom! www.littlefreelib...

At the previous library I worked at, I did a display for Banned Book Week.. The CEO (who was new with us) hated the display and said that it was offensive.. I explained that it was a celebration of our right to read what we like, and that it was filled with titles that would surprise people, but she insisted that I take it down.. I quit my job after that!
