There's nothing like eating your own home-grown veggies, & there are heaps of different foods that will re-grow from the scrap pieces that you'd normally throw out or put into your compost bin. It’s fun, & very simple… if you know how to do it. Just remember… the quality of the “parent” vegetable scrap will help to determine the quality of the re-growth. So wherever possible buy local organic produce, so you know that your re-grown plants are fresh, healthy & free of chemical & genetic meddling.

Vanilla Extract Clean the microwave and leave it smelling sweet with this household trick! Mix 2 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a microwave-safe container, and zap it on high for five minutes. When it's done, remove the container and wipe down the interior of the oven. Any gunk should slide right off.

Take a spray bottle, fill it about 1/8th full with rubbing alcohol, add a drop of Dawn dishwashing soap, a few drops of scented oil (optional, but makes it smell so good), fill the rest of the way with water, shake together, and you're good to go! It makes your granite (or any countertop) shine and feel so smooth at a fraction of the price~I have loved it and use it on my appliances as well.
