LOTR and The Hobbit
J.R.R.Tolkien author of 'The Hobbit' and 'Lord of the Rings' pictured at Oxford in 1968
I am only posting this as a means to prove that Tolkien was, in fact, a real-life Hobbit
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king." - J.R.R. Tolkien
Tolkien lost three of his closest friends in WWI. While Lord of the Rings is not about either that war or WWII, it is, I think, about Tolkien's horror of mechanized warfare.
Whoops! Something went wrong.
