Chinese Imperial Seals and Stamp Imprints

A comprehensive collection of photo images, primarily of Chinese imperial seal chops and corresponding stamp imprints throughout China's history. This collection also includes examples of seals used by nearly every Qing dynasty emperor and Zaifeng, the Prince Regent for Xuan Tong (Henry Puyi) the last Qing emperor.

An ivory seal of the Emperor Xuantong (Henry Pu Yi or Aixinjueluo Puyi), 愛新覺羅·溥儀 (1906 - October 17, 1967), who was the last Emperor of China.(1908-12 AD). This seal is carved in the form of a Jilin (a mythological animal) chop.

A personal Jade Double Headed Dragon Seal identified as once belonging to the Guangxu Emperor. It is suspected of having been either stolen and sold by palace eunuchs or pillaged by allied troops during the aftermath of the Battle for Peking. At that time, the Qing court fled in haste to the interior, leaving most of its treasures to be plundered by Chinese and allied troop alike.

Qing Dynasty: Attractive old Chinese stone seal by the important painter, calligrapher and seal carver Jin Cheng 金城 (1878 – 1967). The seal has been carved in 1911. 4 characters as actual seal: qi chang pinjian 岂长贫贱 ( How long does one need to stay poor and lowly? The line is from an old erotic novel „Lan shi qiguan“).
