A solid three, a weak four; but, a fine film regardless. Fantastic concept. The previews will draw many to the theaters for the comedic scenes shown in all the previews. Regardless of why you go, I think you'll find this a sort of "everyman" marital discord/tiring relationship film - at times, you totally forget that the partners are gay - they could be any married/partnered couple. While the film will win no Oscars (mostly due to genre), if there were an Oscar for the relationship between director and actor (with kudos to cameraman and sound man), it would go, hands down, to the scene where Annette Bening returns to the group at the table after finding evidence of Julianne Moore's dalliance - truly exceptional! Chick flick? Yes. Good comedy? Yes. Worthy of a trip to the theater? Absolutely!
