skip the towel rod.. It's always hard to decorate around the towel rod. Plus, this fits a LOT more towels.
This is almost exactly what we did with an old buffet and I had NOT seen this pin.... painted ours a deep burgundy red color and tiled the top w/ 1" square, mother of pearl/ oyster shell tiles. Tub Cleaner - vinegar and dish soap, no scrubbing! Heat 1/2C white vinegar in m'wave for 90 sec, pour int spray bottle. Add 1/2C BLUE Dawn dish soap. Shake gently to mix. Spray on surface, let it sit 1-2 hours. Just wipe it away then rinse with water. Should also take soap scum off shower doors! I promise you that this works!

Points of Light ~ Say cheese — graters, that is. Salvaged shredders make a lovely table display with the illumination of votive candles twinkling through. Nab an assortment of round and classic box graters from flea markets. Then group on a tray with fall flowers or leaves for a seasonal accent. To be safest, use LED lights instead of candles.
