"We have White People Problems, in America. That's what we have. White People Problems. You know what that is? That's where your life is *amazing*, so you just make shit up to be upset about. People in other countries have *real* problems. Like - 'Oh, shit. They're cutting off all our heads today!' Things like that. Here, we make shit up to be upset about. Like - 'How come I have to choose a language on the ATM machine? It's *bullshit*. I shouldn't have to do that. I'm *American*.'" (Louis CK)
Good guy soldier… From What Would You Do
This is what the world needs. Even the selfie. ♥
Sometimes this quote represents a healthy commitment to keeping dangerous people from creating drama in our lives, sometimes it's just a bullshit excuse to push away those we know would hold us to the fire. Know which aim you're taking before making thus kind of decision. Self-respect is one thing: no one should be a doormat. Loving through striving is a whole different ball game.
This has been on my mind all day.
This just seems to be part of what life and love are all about...and part of what's beautiful and also painful and growth producing about it all. Family, friends, boys. All lately requiring more compassion, patience, and realistic expectations from me. Which are things I need to work on anyway. So, yay love! :)
