made from 1000 exploded party poppers collected ( on 01.01.00 ) after the Millennium celebrations in London. Each popper is suspended on a line from a platform above. The sculptural shape sways and moves like an organic form when hit by a breeze of air. Although this original light is a ' one off ' piece due to the narrative it is recreated using new party poppers. The kitchen of photographer and interior designer Benedikte Ugland. From details like the subway tiles, dark cabinetry, hardware and industrial lighting the space decorated with inherited and flea market finds is a highly stylish and personal room. Cabinets are IKEA covered with planks. Faucet and sink also from IKEA, the lighting with cords wrapped around a rod was commissioned by a blacksmith.
Resembling an inflated balloon, the lamp appears to be floating mid-air. Allowing for unstructured clustered formations on multiple surfaces, the lamp is ideal for children's bedrooms, playrooms or anywhere calling for a light-hearted, whimsical effect.
