On this Winter day the pinner said they received over a foot of snow. The white flakes and the red bridge created one of her favorite Americana photos...I agree!!

Berry College Water Wheel, Constructed in 1930, the Old Mill boasts an iron hub which had originally been of service at Hermitage, an early manufacturing community near the Shannon village between Rome and Calhoun, Georgia, and was a gift to Berry from The Republic Mining (bauxite) and Manufacturing Company. Henry Ford had the hub moved to Berry where the wheel was rebuilt.

The tallest bridge in the world is the Millau Bridge in France. This stunning cable stayed vehicular bridge has one mast reaching a height of 1,125ft. The bridge crosses the valley of the river Tarn near Millau and on cloudy days the bridge appears to almost float on the clouds. It was designed by the English architect Lord Norman Foster, cost £272 million and was entirely privately financed. French President Jacques Chirac called the bridge ‘a miracle of equilibrium’.

The old grist mill in Pigeon Forge, TN. is a working mill powered by water of the Little Pigeon River. The mill was built in the early 1800's. It is now the sight of The Old Mill Restaurant, general store, candy store and other businesses.
Old Berry Mill on the campus of Berry College just north of Rome Georgia. It was constructed in 1930 by students of the college. The wooden waterwheel is considered one of the largest in the world at 42 feet in diameter. The mill operates on special occasions such as Mountain Day and sells the ground cornmeal.
New Hampshire covered bridge
