I love finding great furniture out by the curb waiting for someone to come by and give it a new home. Even better then saving a perfectly good item from spending eternity in a landfill is finding a piece of furniture that can be re-purposed into something unique. In total, this project cost us less than $150, with the inclusion of a few plumbing connections and a tube of caulk. The result: a one-of-a-kind custom vanity that adds charm and elegance to our renovated half bath.

Turn a dresser into a bathroom vanity. If you’re tired of your plain builder-grade bathroom vanity, add character to your bathroom by searching Craigslist, garage sales, and flea markets for an antique dresser. Cut a hole for the sink, re-work the top drawers and the back panel to make room for the plumbing, and you’re well on your way to a custom look for your bathroom.
