DIY Repurposed Wire Basket Ceiling Light I know repurposed light shades aren't exactly a new idea though I did kinda just make this one up as I went along. I really wanted a hanging pendant in the nursery though the ceiling is just too dang low so I instead opted to transform a standard batten fix (flush mount) light. The most important things about painting: prep, prep, primer, and SHEEN! I *never* use flat paint - I always use satin - cleans up well and has a nice clean finish :-) However, my new home builder (grrrrrrr!) refused to paint my house in satin, so everything is in flat - so guess who will be repainting each room? Make sure those little things that really peeve you are done "right" by your builder to save yourself a lot of aggravation! Ugh!
