Tutorial: How to Make Chalk Paint

Hello, DIY Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Where have you been? 1) latex paint 2) baking soda 3) water 1/3 baking soda to 2/3 latex paint ratio. In your baking soda, add a tad bit of water. The more water you add, the more runny it will be, so go easy at first until the baking soda is nice and smooth. Then stir the mixture into the paint. Mix well.... voila!

Use Vaseline to distress project. Simply do your dark (under) coat and let dry. Apply Vaseline where you will be distressing so top coat won't adhere as well. Apply top coat, dry, then lightly sand where you want distressed. (Acrylic paint works well as base coat and latex paint is nice for a top coat, since it distresses well)
