retrospective: Branches and Leaves

I came up with this idea on a whim when thinking of a way to get my preschoolers to move items one at a time with tongs or tweezers. I decorated a small water bottle to look like a turkey and gave them beads and a strawberry picker. Just challenging enough for them to pick up and "FEED THE TURKEY." I think I will do the same with Santa and have the kids feed him "Cookies."

After sharing a Mayflower story, I did this Pilgrim Handprint craft with some of my first graders. This is the one my four year old girl did-- she did all of the cutting and I guided the glue application. Pure fun!!

Pumpkin pie spinner craft. I am using lunchtime to ask my preschool class what they are thankful for for the month of November. This would be a great way to collect their daily thanksgivings before the holiday and send it home and share it with parents and visiting family. I have had some touching remarks and it's only the 2nd day.
