extras around the classroom

start the year with an empty jar and fill it with notes about good things that happen. on New Years Eve, empty it and see what awesome stuff happened that year. # Pin++ for Pinterest #

Why didn't I think of this!! Notebook to place all the kiddos special drawings they give you. Then the other students can see read them in the library area. Love this!!!!! # Pin++ for Pinterest #

Think Tank...on Monday put a question for the students to answer. They will then write their answer on a fish and staple it to the board. On Fridays go thru the fish and place the ones who correctly answered the questions in the fish bowl. Draw five every couple of weeks and give those students a reward. Works as a great assessment tool to see how the students are doing with various concepts! Maybe a a trivia contest in the library?? # Pin++ for Pinterest #

Students must highlight their name before putting it in the tray. Great way to make sure all papers have names! LOVE THIS!! I am so doing this because they always forget!

this is my favorite first day activity... find your class picture from whatever grade you teach, scan it and ask the kiddos to decide which one was you when you were their age!

Great site with tons of iPad apps for the classroom (and ways you can use it even if you only have ONE iPad).
