Houseplants that help Clean Indoor Air
flower bed filled with red knock-out roses, blue-violet salvia and verbena, against white fencing.
Plant these in the garden to repel mosquitoes - won't get rid of them completely, but every little bit helps! All these plants really need to have some direct sunlight on them during the day to get them to grow, even in Houston's tropical climate. ~ Houston Foodlovers
SECRET Fertilizer :) My 'fertilizing cocktail' consists of mixing 1/2 bottle of cheap beer, 1 tablespoon of Epson salts, and 2 tablespoons of fish emulsion in a watering can (1-2 gallons). I do this to ALL my vegetable, flowers, and indoor plants. You will definitely notice the difference in a few weeks! Don't waste too much money on the beer. Cheapest still works great -- plants aren't picky!
