Close Encounters of the Third Kind
"Napoleon Dynamite" starring Jon Heder, Efren Ramirez, Jon Gries and Aaron Ruell (2004) -- Honestly, the first time I saw this movie I thought it was god awful, and quite possibly the worst movie I'd ever seen. I just didn't "get it." The second time around, I "got it"--I could finally see the humor in it. Since that second viewing, ND has become a perennial favorite in my house; we watch it at least once a year. And watcher beware, this is a very quotable movie. "Heck yes it is!" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0374900/quotes
Do comedies get any better than this?
An engine company is on fire when an arsonist attempts to recreate the Great Chicago Fire and an inspector (Robert DeNiro) is giving the men a hotfoot to solve this thing (Kurt Russell as a seasoned smokeeater; William Baldwin as his rookie kid brother). Directed by Ron Howard ("Ransom"). Written by Gregory Widen ("Highlander"), himself a firefighter for a time.
