What is a French cleat? A French cleat is a way to hang heavy items onto walls. A single piece of wood is split in two at a 45-degree angle. Alternatively, two pieces of wood are cut at 45-degree angles to fit one on top of the other. Use a French cleat for mounting shelves and bookcases on a wall.

When you paint a room, put some extra paint in a baby jar* and keep it handy for quick touch-ups. pinner said *I did this Aug. 2011 - don't use a baby food jar - use a peanut butter jar that has a PLASTIC lid or it will rust - that was a tip from my painter - it's all stored in a cabinet in the house - just take it out and shake well and use a q-tip for quick touch ups. This has got to be one of the best things I've ever pinned!!!!

Cut a slit in your empty toilet paper rolls and slip them over rolls of wrapping paper to keep everything nice and neat. You can use a piece of tape to make it smaller for thinner rolls, and it keeps the paper from getting all messed up

Crown molding to hide your paper towel and double as a shelf. Genius.
