Here’s a submission from Pema, “This is a sacred yant tattoo I got in Wat Bang Pra Thailand by a Buddhist monk. The design basically is a reminder to follow the Dharma (or the middle path), and prayers of protection are whispered into your back as they tattoo it with a large thin needle.”

I hate how different people see you and judge you and your tattoos ♥ this!

Questa orchidea è stato il mio primo tatuaggio. E 'stato fatto da Elmo al Link Ink a Charlotte, NC. Il suo lavoro è incredibile e lei è divertente lavorare con. Non significa niente io sono solo ossessionata con loro :)

The word tatu comes from the heavily Spanish-influence archipelago that is now part of French Polynesia. Women and men both had tattoos. Often a tattoo was a symbol of one’s profession. While I was in Polynesia I saw many elderly women with tattoos like lace covering their hands. I was told this meant they were midwives. paraphrased from ~ Brittanie Shey
