BULLY/BUDDY LESSOn CHART. This would be a great pre-activity to use when starting a lesson on bullying. It would help students realize what bullying all entails and maybe make them think twice about how something so "small" could actually be very hurtful to someone else. It would be a great activity to get students talking with each other and about the issue. - Kaitlyn Griep

LOVE THIS!! Not only will it fit into my tiny classroom, but it is Kindergarten appropriate. Instead of writing out what the child did to fill a bucket, he or she just adds a pom-pom. We can work our way up to writing, but this is a way to start "Bucket Filling" at the beginning of the year with my little ones. I am so excited! :)

First, counselor blows some bubbles and, as expected, the kids all pop them. Then, counselor challenges them to NOT pop the bubbles even if one lands on the tip of their noses. Introduce the concept of self control and launch a discussion about stopping to think before you act. "Think about that time when we didn't pop the bubbles..."
