I don't want my kids to grow up without knowing how to get their hands dirty and have fun making and creating. I feel that in today's society, kids spend too much time in front of the TV or computer, and they miss out on learning important creative brain & social skills. My goal is to create an environment for my future children that incorporates elements of nature & hands-on learning that they can internalize and experience. And, of course, good design doesn't hurt :)

This is the handiest kids cookbook I have. Apple Crisp, Banana Bread, Oatmeal Pancakes. Published by Gold Medal Flour so it's all about baking. One recipe for each letter of the alphabet. My 10-year-old asked if I'd leave it to him! I think I'll just get him his own copy.

Baby shower idea: Possible other wording: "One small request that won't be too hard, Please bring a book instead of a card. Whether Cat in the Hat or Old Mother Hubbard, you can sign the book with your thoughts in the cover. Your book will be cherished, well loved or brand new, but please don't feel obliged, we will leave it up to you." LOVE this

Good idea :) They made a changing table from a sideboard. That makes it such an easy transition back to normal use after the kid is bigger! ...I just love the Danish modern style! Beautiful piece of furniture!

I love the textures and colors of this room -- would like it in a room other than a nursery. This is so creative - the bright blues of Wall Trees: Decals and the chartreuse drapes really pop against the darker grey walls. Just love the little extras, like the owls. Too cool.

Crepe paper the door for Christmas so they have to bust out when they wake up. Santas elves did this to make sure they stayed in their rooms. - I need to remember this in the future!
