London

While London is my primary focus England places this great city in context. The view is from a budding Anglophile's perspective. This endeavor is for the love of London, the most amazing city in the world, in my humble opinion. London is a remarkable place, filled with everything one's imagination can conger up. The museums are grand with something for everyone. I never planned on becoming an Anglophile, but, I have succumb happily!

Antique English, Georgian Sterling silver 6-slice large toast rack made in London, England, by Chas Fox in 1833. The toaster is the epitomy of elegant simplicity and looks as wonderful today as it did almost 200 years ago. $600.00

Of traditional form, the oblong frame raised on four scroll feet, applied at either end with a vacant acanthus leaf cartouche; length is 7 1/4 inches, weight is 10.15 troy ounces. $1,500.00

BEADED TOAST RACK, UNKNOWN, LONDON A sterling silver toast rack, unknown London maker, circa 1868. Of traditional form for six pieces of toast, raised on claw feet grasping round balls, beaded along edges of base, surmounted by a beaded heart-shaped open finial, engraved with the initials JLL; height is 7 inches, weight is 11.35 troy ounces. $1,500.00

Small Sterling Silver Toast Rack, 1911 Tiny sterling silver 4 slice toast rack. Hallmarked for Sheffield 1911. Maker is J.R. for John Round and Son Ltd. Measurement: 7.3 cm high, 7.5 cm long and 4.5 cm wide (3 inches by about 3 inches by 1.3/4 inches). Excellent condition.

Small Sterling Silver Toast Rack, Chester 1912 English sterling silver toastrack, $174.00 hallmarked or Chester, 1912. The maker’s marks is R.A. & Co Ltd. Small 4 slice rack, measuring 8 cm high, 8 cm long and 4.9 cm deep (3.1/8 inches by 3.1/8 inches by 2 inches). Excellent condition.
