Good explanation of Haikus for my older kids. In April, the whole front of my circulation desk becomes a poetry wall. I buy cheap decorative post-its from target and the kids are allowed to write a poem on them and stick it to the wall. At the end of the month we host a poetry night and students can read one of those poems!

Poetry station.. Has a poem of the week along with lots of poetry definitions on the sides. Students must find examples of these elements in the poem and then as an extension they can write their own poem or choose another poem to read.
