Did you know that glass etching is super easy? You'd always get your dishes back! Maybe... :) And, what a great gift (add a couple of tea towels, some dishcloths, and a couple of great recipes)
YES PLEASE Money Balloons - a cool way to present money as a gift, esp for a young person (as opposed to a boring check in a card). I have a friend whose parents blow up a balloon and put a one dollar bill in it and have the number of balloons for how old their kid is on their birthday and then after they open their presents they can pop open the balloon and get their $. very cute.
I'm skipping the card aisle next time and giving a Money Balloons instead. How many kids love a birthday card?? How many kids love BALLOONS??

2 Minute Microwave Fudge & you probably already have everything on hand for it!
Someday when my best friend gets all pregantized, I am coming back to this "guide to hosting a baby shower that doesn't suck". So good.

Use the oven to make the fluffiest scrambled eggs for a large group. You start by whisking 24 eggs with 1 T of salt and 2 1/2 Cups Milk. Melt a stick of butter in the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan. Pour your eggs in the pan and put in a 350 degree oven. Stir with a spatula every 10 minutes, until done. Most likely will take 30 mins.
