Honeymoons & Romance Travel

Where do you want to go (or have been) for your honeymoon? No advertising messages for prominent hotels or resorts, please. Please pin from a range of sources, only pin travel destinations, and 2-3 pins per user per day. Best practice: give a few words as to why your pin was/would make a great honeymoon destination.

Santorini ...... Santorini is an island off the coast of Greece, thousands of years ago the site of one of the largest volcanic explosions in history. Today it plays home to spectacular views, crazy architecture, and a storied history (supposedly the same eruption that destroyed it led to the legend of Atlantis).

Plitvice .... Plitvice is the oldest national park in Southeast Europe, and the largest in Croatia. Its views are something that few would expect in Europe at all, and the fact that it remains relatively untouched (aside from a few walkways), makes it all the better.

The Taj Mahal .... The Taj Mahal is considered "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage," which should be reason enough to visit its vaulted walls and beautiful gardens; but what's more, it was built from 1632-1653 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Now that is some serious devotion.

Guilin, China We actually spent our honeymoon in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong I highly recommend people consider China as it can be very romantic!, esp Guilin!

The Bay Bridge and the SF Bay Illuminated at night, San Francisco, California

Tropea - Calabria, Italy - I stayed between Tropea and Capo Vaticano. Tropea is a lovely old town sitting on a hilltop with narrow winding streets. Below the town is a long stretch of golden beaches. Capo Vaticano is further down the coast and has spectacular scenery, golden beaches and emerald green seas - more of a resort area with many hotels, bars, restaurants etc.

I wouldn't really recommend the hotel i stayed in but i had looked at the Costa Azzurra at Capo Vaticano (‎)and the Rocca Nettuno (‎) in Tropea - both of which i would have probably been better with. Calabria is a fascinating area of Italy, still relatively unspoilt (or it was then) with amazing scenery and friendly people.

Brussels Grand Place by Night, Belgium. - Brussels, best known for the being the capital of the European Union, the home of Tintin and the famous painter Magritte, is not traditionally a romantic hotspot. But if you’re looking for the perfect alternative to tourist-heavy Prague or Copenhagen for a romantic break, short-haul minimoon or pre-wedding getaway with your man,

Brussels is actually a city of hidden treasures. Walking through the steep cobbled streets, you stumble on quaint restaurants and traditional pubs, designer shops, galleries, museums and incredible architecture. You can fly from Gatwick in less than an hour with Brussels Airlines at affordable prices or take a relaxed trip on the Eurostar from London’s St Pancras.

Evening on a quiet canal in Venice...Venice may be packed with tourists, but you can get away from the crowds and enjoy the quieter neighborhoods. There's no place more romantic.

Instagram postcards from Istanbul, Turkey - Start every morning with strong Turkish coffee and a simit, the Turkish equivalent of a bagel, sold on nearly every street corner. Buy a grilled fish sandwich from the vendors on boats near the Eminonu, or tackle a plate of fried or raw mussels. If you’re brave, sample kokorec, a sandwich crafted with lamb innards.

Lively meyhanes (taverns) offer feasts of fish, kebabs and meze staples like salted cheese, eggplant salads and dipping sauces. Wash it all down with raki, an aniseflavored liquor. The epicenter of creative cuisine is Ciya, a restaurant on the Asian side, where chef Musa Dagdeverin uses obscure grains and veggies (like freekah and goosefoot).

    Great detail, Dragan.

How about spending your honeymoon up in the trees? Architecturally boggling, the Tree Hotel ( is a futuristic collection of eco sleeping modules suspended metres off the ground in the middle of a pine forest in the far north of Sweden. Each module embraces the environmental principles of harmony, sustainability and minimum impact, ranging from the functional Blue Cone (actually red) and Mirror Cube (thankfully named for the exterior) to the wacky Bird's Nest and aptly named UFO.

Glacier National Park, Montana. In November all the bald eagles migrate down from Canada on their winters journey south. They stop to feast on the salmon in MacDonald creek and Lake. Just breath taking scenery

Villnoess (Val di Funes) is a beautiful place to visit in every seasons but I think once in your life you must admired this valley in its autumn dress. I know Alps better than my pockets but I can say that this scenery is perhaps the one that leaves more breathtaking emotions than any other places I've been lucky enough to admire in these years of immense passion for photography and mountain. Equipment: Canon EOS 5D Mark III with Canon 16-35mm

Amsterdam © Artem Savateev - The Holland capitol is one of the best place for romantic travel. The city will help you relax and you'll have the dream holiday, enjoy the goods offered there while doing that.

Golfo Dulce, Costa Rica - As a destination with multiple attractions, tropical climate, beautiful scenery and exotic character, Costa Rica is an ideal location for an unforgettable honeymoon getaway. Only a few hours’ flight from North America, Costa Rica is blessed with spectacular beaches, enchanting rainforest, live volcanoes, and an abundance of nature and wildlife. Without a doubt, it is an exciting location that invites romance, rest and relaxation, as well as passion and adventure.

St Lucia - St. Lucia is an excellent place for a honeymoon. However, I wouldnt go there unless it is for a honeymoon. Everything is for couples and most couples stay to themselves. It is not a family place or a party place. Besides all that, it is beautiful. You are basically in a rainforest which is quite different from alot of the Carribbean. It rains alot throughout the day, but for only 5 minutes at a time.

Snow Frosting, Huanglong, China - My way of romantic adventure. Somewhere in the other side of the world far away of our comfort zone, like the place i am pining now. Love is an adventure!

Carvoeiro beach, Portugal - Portugal is all about romance. I've read many short love poems from this country, and every time i am there with my girl, we are having great "US" time :)

Paris is well known for its architectural beauty, not only for the old historical monuments but for the new part as well called La defense, and the Arch de Triumph and the Champs-Elysees road leads straight to this amazing location. A modern arch is build there that mimics the Arch de Triumph and marks a new era of this majestic city.

Kosi Forest Lodge, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. I wouldn't mind living in a room like this permanently. Also i think that is ideal for a perfect romantic honeymoon
