Jon Peters demonstrates how to make encaustic medium. Has a couple of really good tips: 1. filter the initial small quantity of melted dammar and beeswax. Much easier than filtering the whole batch of melted wax. 2. Uses a reinforced paint filter 3. leeches excess wax out of oil paint on a masonite board, rather than a paper towel. Easier to scrape off.
