Ratanakiri ("Mountain Gems") is a province of Cambodia located in the remote northeast. For over a millennium, Ratanakiri has been occupied by the highland Khmer Loeu people, who are a minority elsewhere in Cambodia. During the region's early history, its Khmer Loeu inhabitants were exploited as slaves by neighboring empires.

Thomas Tham. It is amazing to me, that this child can smile with the turmoil around her. She picks up a wired conduit to be used as her new found toy. She smiles. She plays. She is a child. Not knowing the world around her disintegrates. Or maybe she does know. I look at her and I praise God for her smile and thank Him for my blessings. JP 9/16/2012
