The one time Princess May of Teck, a German Princess, was presented a wedding gift by Lady Eve Greville's committee which raised funds from "the girls of Great Britain and Ireland" for the tiara celebrating her 1893 wedding. She of course would later become Queen Mary when Prince George (son of King Edward VII) became King George V.

King Edward VII was a great lover of dogs, he kept many as companions and for sport but his favourite was a Wire Fox Terrier named Caesar who was his constant companion even on trips abroad. .In 1910 upon the King's death he was reportedly broken hearted The terrier walked in the funeral procession- behind the carriage holding the casket. King Juan Carlos I of Spain (b. 5 Jan. 1938), 2nd child and eldest son of Infante Juan of Spain, Count of Barcelona. Juan Carlos became King in Nov. of 1975, having been handpicked by Gen. Francisco Franco in 1969 to be his successor over his father, Infante Juan. Franco hoped that JC would continue his Falangist policies but Juan Carlos instead instituted democracy. JC wed Princess Sophia of Greece and Denmark in 1962. The couple has 3 children.
