while on a trip, send yourself a postcard every day from where ever you are and write what you did that day on it...then bind them when you return to have a journal of your trip -- complete with photos, stamps, and a run-down of each day's events.... Great idea!!

I did 3 of these in orange as an accent for Malory's room (walls are gray with a teal stripe around the room). I used PAPER doileis. They turned out so cute. I used tape to hole the doilies in place and then sprayed them. The paint does get under the doiley a little and makes it look a little fuzzy but I think that it gives it character and dimension. SO CUTE, EASY and CHEAP! doili, wall art, spray, wedding invitations, diy canvas, paint, envelop, diy wedding, canvas artwork
doilies and spray paint!
'resist' method: lay doily / lace / stencil on paper, spray with clear gloss spray paint, remove, paint with watercolours / ink
layers like a relief sculpture - love this - would be great to get students to reinterpret artist's interiors like this of course Van Gogh's bedroom comes to mind - BUT LET STUDENTS CHOOSE THEIR ARTIST INTERIOR - or this could be a really boring academic exercise - yr 9-11 make a book, art club, art journal, book hous, scrapbook layouts, book sculpture, paper, altered books, alter book
