had this one my books to read list for awhile, anyone read it?
A rundown castle, a literary mystery, a love story, and lots of family secrets make for another great read by Kate Morton. Loved it!

Alison Bechdel’s "Fun Home" was a pop culture and literary phenomenon. Now, a second thrilling tale of filial sleuthery, this time about her mother: voracious reader, music lover, passionate amateur actor. Also a woman, unhappily married to a closeted gay man, whose artistic aspirations simmered under the surface of Bechdel's childhood, and who stopped touching or kissing her daughter good night, forever, when she was seven. alison bechdel, graphic novels, mother, books online, comic drama, daughter, librari, graphic art, new books

The works by Ann-Mari Forsberg have a strong narrative but also humour and are one of the most important works in the Swedish textile tradition. She was inspired by the feel of her childhood, growing up close to the pharmacy, and by the nature of the island of Gotland. This was intertwined with the old textile folk art tradition. She created her own style of composition with a bold and bright colour scheme.
When her four year old daughter informs her a sick man is in their yard, Honor Gillette rushes out to help him. But that "sick" man turns out to be Lee Coburn, the man accused of murdering seven people the night before. Dangerous, desperate, and armed, he promises Honor that she and her daughter won't be hurt as long as she does everything he asks. She has no choice but to accept him at his word. amaz book, favorit author, worth read, book book, book worth, lethal, favorit book, sandra brown, booksiv read
Lethal - An excellent thriller.
Alan Bradley has created greatness with 11-year-old Flavia de Luce, a sort of 'Harriet the Cyanide Expert.' Imagine Ramona Quimby in a quaint English town, as told by Shirley Jackson. Whip-smart and sweet as an arsenic popsicle, Flavia sets out to solve the mystery of the dead body in her garden, while trying to deal with fearsome librarians, bothersome older sisters, priceless missing stamps, and detestable custard pie along the way. Viva la Flavia! luce mysteri, books, flavia de, sweet, de luce, alan bradley, pies, bottom, read
This is a work of historical fiction in the time leading up to and including the first World War. It follows several families from different countries: Russian, English, German, and American and offers an interesting perspective on what happened during the war. I think I learned more about WWI from this book than I did in my high school history class! Although it's over a thousand pages, I couldn't put it down! I HIGHLY recommend it. district librari, fiction books, fall, staff picksaudiobook, novel, giant
An amazing book!
Book Club Selection. Quotes: “There is something about words. In expert hands, manipulated deftly, they take you prisoner. Wind themselves around your limbs like spider silk, and when you are so enthralled you cannot move, they pierce your skin, enter your blood, numb your thoughts. Inside you they work their magic.” “A good story is always more dazzling than a broken piece of truth.” book club, best mystery books, mystery books to read, dian setterfield, winters tale, the selection book quotes, mystery books worth reading, the thirteenth tale, enjoy

Sounds good: “The Kitchen House makes the reader ponder issues of race in a reverse way, as we see what life was like for Irish orphan Lavinia within the servant community of a tobacco plantation. With characters that are both wonderful and horrible, this is a book that continues to make me think about human nature and cross-cultural relationships.” -- Susan Richmond, kitchens, books, kitchen hous, houses, book clubs, reading lists, kathleen grissom

“Secrets had an immense attraction to him, because he never could keep one, and he enjoyed the sort of unhallowed thrill he experienced when he went and told another animal, after having faithfully promised not to.” read to my grandchildren
